You asked for A1 curvy jackets, and we made them! We are excited to announce that every new batch of women’s gis from next month on will have A1 curvy jackets available.
A1 jacket, and A1 curvy pants combination is one the most popular mix-and-match sizes ever since we started making curvy pants. It is a great option for ladies with narrow shoulders, small chest, wider hips, and thicker thighs.
Lately we have received lots of requests from ladies who are not that small on top, and need a roomier jacket. The bigger bust, and wider shoulders fit into A2 but the sleeves are a tad too long for that particular height.
If your height is between 5’3” and 5’5”, and need a jacket that covers your chest, does not pinch in the armpits, and does not have hugely long sleeves; this is the size for you. Pair it up with A1 Curvy pants for a great fitting gi.
We are giving away one black pearl weave, and one white pearl weave plus gi to two volunteers who are willing to send us some feedback on this new size. We would like to give these gis to the ladies who have purchased a mix-and-match set before (A1/A1C or A2/A1C) so they can compare the fit. Email us or comment below if you are interested.
I would love to try one of these. I have purchased the A1/A1C combo previously and I could definitely use some more room in the chest.
Yes Lord it is extremely hard to find a gi that not only goes across the chest and fit the bottom. A lot of sights are paired combos so it will be hit or miss on the top and bottom. Recently I received my blue belt and need a better gi for me to move in I have larger breast but smaller bottom half and it is a struggle to find a gi that fits that is not frankenstined from your husbands hand me downs.
Its hard for me to find the perfect gi. I’m 180lbs at 5’3 with broad shoulders. I usually order F4’s in tatami but it doesn’t fit correctly.
The top is a little snug because of my broad shoulders and the length of the arms are a little too short, but the length of my gi fits right. The F4 pants are loose on the waist but my thighs hold it up because they’re big.
I would definitely be interested in an A1 curvy jacket as I very much struggle to get a jacket that fits! Not only I can’t find one that fits, but I am a size 12-14 woman who looks terrible in a Gi. Granted jiu jitsu isn’t a fashion show, but I think jiu jitsu is a very naked sport. My hair is tied up, I have no make up on, wearing extremely fitted rash guards and spats that show everything I don’t particularly want to show… To then put on a Gi, just makes me feel like a flump!
So please consider me as a volunteer for this product as I would love to test it out, give some honest feedback and promote it through my own social media. Especially my Instagram page! I will be posting more and more about jiu jitsu over the next three months on the run up to the Bristol Open competition, which I aim to take gold and actively compete next year.
Thanks!!
I would love to try A1 curvy. Sounds perfect!!
Please! Please! Please! I am 5′ nothing about 135 lbs and wear a 36D-DD and covering the girls is always an issue. Would love to give it a try! Thank you!
I have purchased the a1c pants and a1 jacket previously with this very issue. I would live to try out the new jacket and give you some honest feedback. LOVE my fenom pants!!!!
This sounds great! I would love to try a white gi in a1c. I have a couple a couple of the a1/a1c sets from Fenom and the only problem I have is the tightness in the bust and under the arms. I was just planning on ordering a new gi in the next couple of weeks, so I will wait until I can get my hands on the new size.
My 11 year old daughter has had a hard time fitting into the unisex gis because they have such a low rise. She wants something that goes up to her real waist so that she does not have to keep yanking them up. Would this fit take care of that problem?
Sounds like the problem is with pants, not the jacket. How much does she weigh and how tall is she? Our pants are not low rise, there is more coverage on the back.
I am interested.
A1 curvy. Exactly my size. I would be more than happy to test out the gi and provide feedback. In fact, there are several ladies my same size at our bjj gym who could all test it for you. P.S. I love black gis! 🙂
Hi Jen, do you have a Fenom mix and match size gi?
I am interested. I am 5’5″. Just about every jacket I have ever had pinches in the arm. Love to wear them, just can’t find them!
Hi,
I’m purchased a mix matched set almost two years ago A2 jacket and curvy pants
Unfortunately the jacket shrunk and as you mentioned it got really uncomfortably tight in the armpit area. I’d love to get the opportunity to text the new sizes. I really liked your gi and even added patches to it hoping it be my competing gi but the shrinkage didn’t allow it :(.
Hi Wendy, Have you stretched the gi out after wash when the gi is wet? That helps to maintain the size.
i would love to try one
I probably don’t fit the profile for this GI test run but have some of the same issues. I am 5’9 170-175 Long arms and legs. 36D no waist. I just bought an A2 tall in both the pants and jacket. I love the arms and length of the jacket but it doesn’t wrap around the bust area to well so it really doesn’t fit well at all. Love the pants as I have no butt. The length is awesome but because I have no waist (not curved) they are a bit tight in the waist but great in the legs. So if you ever test out something in my body type I hope to be a reviewer.
Hi Terri,
You would be better off with A2C pants and A3 jacket. A2T has the needed length for your height but not the width. We are looking into making A2C jackets next.
Thanks I will try that size on my next order
Purchasing my first Fenom Gi! I am 5’6 and about 156lbs with more junk in the trunk.. Would an A2 top and A2 curvy bottom work?
Yes! A2/A2C combo will work. Thank you 🙂
